Rev. Virginia "Virg" L. Fryer, Pastor

In July of 2011, Bow Mills UMC welcomed Rev. Virginia L. Fryer as pastor.

Born and raised in the Concord, NH area, Virginia received a Master of Divinity at Boston University School of Theology, was ordained as deacon in the United Methodist Church and began serving church appointments in July 1995. She became an ordained elder in The New England Conference of the United Methodist Church in June 2001.

She has served United Methodist churches as associate pastor in Londonderry, NH, and Scituate, RI and as lead pastor in Lebanon, NH for twelve years prior to serving her new appointment at Bow Mills.

While serving the Lebanon United Methodist Church, Virg played a lead role in the development and launch of the United Valley Interfaith Project, a community organizing group consisting of several faith communities seeking to improve the quality of life for area residents. Recent projects included leading efforts to expand bus service to a local hospital and facilitating conversation and planning around city-sponsored winter warming shelters in the city of Claremont.

Pastor Virg brings numerous gifts to ministry including a strong Wesleyan foundation in social justice and a deep desire to build community across many lines. She is gifted in creative worship arts such as dance, drama and music.

Pastor Virg is delighted to partner in ministry with the Bow Mills United Methodist Church as together they reach out in mission and ministry to the community and world.
